The client is a leading legal and administrative service provider of employee share incentive plans for companies worldwide.   They managed the core share administration service activities through client specific tactical IT solutions; these ranged from Excel sheets, Access/SQL databases to a specialized module of a commercial application maintained by contract developers.   As a result, there was a high maintenance cost associated with support and administration of this model which was a limiting factor in new customer acquisition. As part of a strategic initiative to remedy the situation, the client engaged Mastek to develop and manage a common and adaptable administration platform - "Planetarium".   Mastek worked alongside the client team to create a flexible web based architecture keeping in view the variations in existing plans and an evolving regulatory framework.   Since then, over a five year period "Planetarium" has been continuously maintained and enhanced with basic architecture now upgraded to .Net technology.   The overall delivery framework is supported by Mastek's mature onsite-offshore delivery model with stringent quality processes.   Over time, the product has become more resilient, agile and complete.
