Capita is a major player in the UK Government arena and offers a variety of software services in the field of education.   For over a decade Mastek has supported Capita Education Services in providing technology solutions aimed at improving the lives of young learners and students, and supporting teachers and parents.   Some of the initiatives in which Mastek has been actively involved with Capita in this area, are: SIMS (Schools Information Management System), a management information system that provides schools with solutions that meet all of their administrative needs. Key modules produced in partnership with Mastek include: Parents' Gateway: an internet based information and communication tool that gives parents secure access to individual student data (daily attendance, homework assignments, assessment grades and timetable activities) directly from a school management system. Learning Gateway: an initiative to provide many stakeholders (parents, teachers and students) access to information from multiple education establishments via a learning portal. EMA: a major Government inclusion initiative to encourage more students to participate in full-time further education and to reward the learning process.   The Education Management System (EMS) offers solutions to support Local Authorities in their day-to-day management responsibilities and administrative activities. Key modules of this system produced in partnership with Mastek include: Admissions and Transfers (A&T) the schools admissions and transfers process that enables end users to make online offers and allows public/parents access to complete and submit admission applications online.
